The Battle Between the Ears

January is almost over, but now is the perfect time for you to decide to continue to do the things you may have started in the New Year that you thought would bring you better health. This can be a time when people slowly slide back into complacency, or just outright quit! The weather is cold, families are back to the grind of work and school, maybe a virus came through and disrupted any progress made….But don’t give up!


Don't let the frosty weather derail your goals!

Maybe you didn’t even start any new healthy behaviors, but you are reading these words, so ask yourself “How is that working?” Are you sleeping well enough that you feel rested when you wake and ready for the day? Would you like to change that if you could?


Small habits in life matter, and by making a few changes you can start to feel better.


The battle is all between the ears. Choosing a goal is often the hardest part, so start by picking something that you like. The forward momentum you gain will carry forward to other areas in your life. There will always be setbacks, but you just get back up and move on forward.


Be resilient! Here are some tips to push back against the winter blues so that this season doesn’t take something away from your health that you are not willing to give, and derail you from achieving your goals.


Not walking your 10,000 steps because it’s cold? Choose parking spots that force you to walk farther than usual. Or just bundle up and go for it, you might be warmer than you think!


Not hydrating? Drink a smoothie before you have your first cup of coffee. This really is a game-changer.


Give your immune system a little boost - take some Vitamin D3, Omega 3’s, and Vitamin C.
